| Ours is a crusade against illiteracy and ignorance but that is not what a university is all about. As we grow in time, there is greater purpose that we are supposed to fulfill, a higher degree of commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom and an untiring journey into the mysteries of the unknown which we have to attempt to comprehend, analyze and apply. The purpose of all education is to dispel darkness and make human life not only better and subtler but also harmonize with the world we live in. All the subjects of study have a common goal: to know better than before, to understand better than before and to respond better than before. This entails sustained research and development. This is also the higher and exalted goal of all education.
We are extremely happy that this year from November onwards we have made functional our College of Engineering & Technology which has attracted huge public interest and enthusiasm and an overwhelming response from those interested in seeking admission in various engineering courses being put on offer by us. In times ahead, all we can reasonably expect is further strengthening and concretization of our academic base.
After our becoming functional in 2005, we haven't looked back and in these 4 years things have started falling in place with considerable and copiously targeted efforts. The cult of research and development has already started evolving and it is matter of time now for it to become sturdier and self perpetuating.
Three conspicuous attributes of this university which will put it apart as an institution of excellence in professional education are: i) it is a fully residential ii) it has a rural setting and iii) it is a bold initiative in beating ignorance and backwardness on their home turf. That this experiment has already succeeded is reflected in the manner which the popularity graph of the university has soared higher. We are the first university in the whole of northern region to have a lead botanical garden for which the Central Ministry of Environment and Forests has already sponsored some research projects that we have initiated here. Similarly, we have signed MoUs with some leading universities of the region to promote greater interaction. The young professionals coming out of this university are registering near-100% placements which is a major morale booster for a university of recent origin. Topping the list, however is overwhelming response this university has generated among the prospective admission seekers for various courses.
With better things still to happen, with steady upward trend assured and with people reposing trust in our capabilities and potential, all I have to say is: the future belongs to us!
With Best wishes, |
