Department of Management Studies
The department runs Masters program in Business Administration (MBA). The dedicated faculty and diligent students are striving to groom it into one of the fast emerging management centers. The students of the Department are being exposed to the guest-faculty drawn from different parts of the Country besides its own. The objective of the Department is to prepare professional managers with required skills, commitment and drive necessary to manage human as well as material resource in the corporate and public sectors. The Department is trying to liase with corporate and public sectors from within and outside the State for finding high profile placements for its product.

Eligibility for Admission to MBA programme Bachelors' degree of 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto from any recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories). Having passed final examination from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants or Company Secretaries. A.M.I.E. (Engineering) with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes). Candidates appearing in the final year examination of the qualifying degree or those whose result of the same is awaited, can also apply provisionally for appearing in the entrance test.
Procedure for Admission For admission to MBA programme all eligible candidates shall have to appear in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) that will be conducted by the All India Management Association at the centres and on dates to be notified in the MAT bulletin issued by AIMA-CMS. MAT bulletin with Application form can be obtained from the All India Management Association, 14 Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, by sending DD for Rs.650/- or Rs.690/ in case of postal delivery, drawn in favour of the AIMA-CMS, payable at New Delhi. The University may facilitate procurement of MAT Bulletin for the benefit of the students. These can be procured from BGSB University Campus, Rajouri or Camp office of the University at Channi Himmat, Bye Pass Road, Jammu or Regional Office: Rose Lane Colony, Indra Gandhi Road, Parry Pora, Baghat Barzulla, Near S.S.R.B Srinagar. In case the bulletin is purchased from BGSB University the DD will have to be drawn in favour of Registrar, BGSB University, payable at Rajouri. Candidates desirous of admission to MBA programme of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University will have to apply separately to BGSB University on its prescribed Application Form, available along with this Information Bulletin.
Group Discussion & Personal Interview Candidates who are shortlisted after declaration of the results of MAT will be intimated individually by the Head, Department of Management Studies, whereafter they will be required to appear for Group Discussion and I n t e r v i e w a t t h e University Campus, Rajouri or at the Camp office of the BGSB University, Channi Himmat, Bye Pass Road, Jammu-180011 on dates that will be notified through print and electronic media.
Weightage Weightage of Marks for the three components shall be: (a) Marks secured by the candidate in the Management Aptitude Test 80% (b) Group Discussion 10% (c) Interview 10%
